On February 22nd 2011, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the city of Christchurch, leveling buildings and taking 185 lives. Among those lost was Matti McEachen, a member of the local Metal community who was both a talented musician and tattoo artist, and whose kind nature and positive energy was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Matti played Bass in Christchurch Metal bands Athenic and The Murderous Seth, and was an apprentice tattoo artist at Southern Inc Tattoo. He left his mark not only on those he inked, but everyone he shared his music, and his life with. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Rest in peace brother.
